Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 8, 2026
The operator of Lectio Daily (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the Lectio Daily mobile app (the “Service”) processes, how it is used, retained, and deleted.
1. Information We Process
Information stored on your device for personal features
- Prayer journal entries, selected Scripture references, step timers, and usage records
- Voice recordings you create and speech-recognition transcripts you choose to save
- Preferences such as app language, appearance, font, and notification settings
You do not need an account to use these personal features. This information remains on your device and is not automatically uploaded to Lectio Daily servers. It may not be recoverable after you remove the app or delete it in the app.
Information stored on our servers when you use sign-in or Groups
- Account identifier, email address, and display name provided through Google or Apple sign-in
- Profile name, invite-only group membership, invitations, and group-management information
- Prayer text and transcripts that you explicitly choose to share with a group; original voice recordings are not uploaded
- Reactions, comments, group chat messages, announcements, and related timestamps
- Push notification token and notification preferences if a signed-in user enables group notifications
- Reports, a snapshot of reported content, review status, and user-block relationships generated when safety features are used
2. How We Use Information
- To authenticate users who choose to use Groups and provide profiles and invite-only group features
- To store and deliver content that a user explicitly shares with a group
- To operate group comments, reactions, chat, announcements, and optional notifications
- To receive and review reports, enforce blocks, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability and security
3. No Advertising or Tracking
Lectio Daily does not display third-party advertisements, use advertising identifiers, sell personal information, share personal information with data brokers, or track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. The Service does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.
4. Voice Recording and Speech Recognition
Microphone permission is used only when you begin a recording. Original recordings remain on your device and are not uploaded to Lectio Daily servers. If you enable speech recognition, your operating system or an installed speech-recognition provider, such as Apple or Google, may process audio and may do so over a network according to its settings and policies. A resulting transcript is retained in your journal only if you choose to save it, and is shared with a group only if you explicitly choose to share it.
5. Service Providers and Processing
- Supabase: authentication, profiles, invite-only groups, explicitly shared group data, notification records, reports, and blocks
- Google and Apple: sign-in when you choose to use Groups, and operating-system features such as speech recognition that you request
- Apple Push Notification service and Expo notification services: delivery of group notifications that a signed-in user enables
These providers process information only to supply the requested functionality under their applicable terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce our terms, or secure the Service.
6. Retention and Deletion
Device-stored records remain until you delete them in the app or remove the app. Account and group data are retained while the group service is provided. When a signed-in user confirms account deletion through Me → Account and data deletion, account-related server data and on-device prayer data are deleted. If a group owner deletes their account, that group and its group data are also deleted. Limited information may be retained where required by law, to resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or protect the security of the Service.
Read how to delete your account and data.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- You can withdraw microphone and other device permissions at any time in your operating-system settings.
- You choose which journal entries to share with each group and can revoke a share you have made.
- You can report group content or users, block users, review your blocked-user list, and unblock users in the app.
- You can delete individual records or recordings and export personal records in JSON or TXT format.
- You can edit your profile, sign out, and delete your account in the app.
8. Children’s Privacy
The minimum age to use the Service is 16. A higher minimum age applies where local law requires it for use without consent from a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly allow anyone below the applicable minimum age to create an account or use account-based invite-only groups. If you believe that someone below the applicable minimum age has provided personal information or created an account, please contact us using the address below so we can review and delete the information as appropriate.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and database row-level security policies. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Service or applicable law changes. We will communicate material changes through the app or this page and update the effective date above.
