Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Lectio Daily mobile app and related services provided by the operator of Lectio Daily (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
1. The Service
Lectio Daily is a free app that provides guided Lectio Divina steps, private prayer journaling, local voice recording and optional transcript storage, and sharing within invite-only groups. The Service does not include advertising or paid subscriptions. We may change the Service to improve it.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age to use the Service without consent from a parent or legal guardian, that higher age applies. We do not knowingly permit anyone below the applicable minimum age to create or use an account. Google or Apple sign-in is required for Groups. You are responsible for maintaining accurate account information and safeguarding your account and group invitations.
3. User Content and Sharing
You retain rights in the content you create. For content you share with a group, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and transmit that content only as necessary to provide the Service. Revoking a share may delete the shared entry and associated comments.
4. Community Rules
You must treat others respectfully and must not:
- Post unlawful, threatening, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, or violent content;
- Post content that infringes another person’s privacy, copyright, or other rights;
- Send spam, impersonate others, commit fraud, distribute malware, or interfere with the Service; or
- Disclose group invitation passwords or another person’s private content without authorization.
You can report problematic group content or users with the in-app report controls and can block another user to hide that user’s shared entries, comments, chat, announcements, and stickers from your view. Group owners may remove group comments or chat and remove members. We review reports and may restrict content or suspend or delete accounts to comply with law and these Terms or to protect the Service. You may also contact honeylingo@outlook.com for safety support.
5. Recordings and the Rights of Others
You are responsible for obtaining any consent and rights required for your recordings. Do not record or share another person’s voice without consent, or post material that you do not have the right to use.
6. Religious and Health Disclaimer
The Service is a tool to support personal prayer and reflection. It does not replace official Church teaching, pastoral advice from clergy, or diagnosis or treatment by medical or mental-health professionals. If you need urgent help, contact local emergency services or an appropriate professional service.
7. Service Changes and Limitation of Liability
We strive to provide a reliable Service, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation or that no data loss will occur. You can export important personal records for separate backup. To the extent permitted by applicable law, our liability for indirect or incidental damages is limited.
8. Account Termination
An account is optional and is needed only for Groups. You may delete it at any time in the app. We may limit access to an account that materially violates these Terms or applicable law, or threatens the safety of the Service. Account restrictions do not prevent use of personal, on-device features that do not require an account.
